My (hopefully) One and Only Post about Obama
Okay, so now that I am home on Christmas break, I have some time to relax and post about actual news. Right now, the news is still (almost daily) about Obama–his new administration, his kids, his wife, his smoking, his daily plan, etc.
So here’s my two cents on the President-elect:
I like him. I really do. I voted for him and encouraged friends and family members to do the same. I watched the debates and read blogs and even shed some tears of happiness when he was elected. That being said, right now even I’m surprised and admittedly a little bit afraid at the amount of, um, excitement that is brewing over Obama’s election. I mean, people are selling everything with Obama’s face on it, from magazines to pins to buttons to plates. I mean really, plates??? Is this really necessary? And who is buying all this stuff?
As we go into this holiday season let’s just remember that although this election was indeed exciting and historic, Obama is just a man. He is flawed and will make mistakes. Hopefully he will also do much good, but he should not (by any means) be worshipped. Let’s keep our President-elect in perspective and pray for him. He will need it.
And, if you are having economic problems, you really should not be buying any Obama plates or pins or….anything
